From Writer’s Block to Writer’s Cramp: Techniques for Kick-Starting the Writing Process, Maintaining Momentum and Ending Aptly, or Start Fast, Start Fresh; Continue Slowly, Finish Surely©

This five-hour writing seminar, through the maxim, “Start fast, start fresh; continue slowly, finish surely,” provided a well formulated and extensively practised set of techniques with which to write anything with confidence, clarity and credibility.

We began the seminar with power breathing techniques that can be used to launch any writing project, stopped for a 10-minute set of eye exercises after an hour’s work and again at the two-hour mark for hand exercises to avoid “writer’s cramp.” At the end of the seminar we took 10 minutes to learn techniques for releasing tension and reaching completion.

Also included in the seminar were techniques for avoiding procrastination and methods for drawing from other writers, including sourcing and research protocol.

Notes were sent to participants in advance of the seminar, including carefully selected quotations from great authors that were used to structure the five-hour seminar.

This course is also available on a one-to-one basis.

Participants were shown techniques for preparing themselves for the writing process, including methods for self-care, how to surround themselves with the “right stuff” and the benefits of modelling themselves on excellence. They were also given a step-by-step process for tackling any writing project based on the title of the course.

This seminar can be taken as a workshop as well, which would entail more exercises. Read what one participant had to say here.
